What's your favorite diet tip? (I wanted to make a poll and couldn't think of any better question to ask. I write this as a eat ice cream)

My favorite tip is not mentioned, and that's keep a journal. Write down what you eat, at what time, and whatever notes you want to make about your eating/workout habits. You become aware of what you intake and compare your information between the present and past entries.

People misunderstand "dieting". You don't really have to quit eating what you are eating. It does help not to eat things that are so high in fat, however. A lot of people, especially adults, don't have the time to do normal routine exercises like young adults, teens, and children do, so they blow up. Another reason why people gain weight is that they have problems such as thyroid diseases. If you have a under active one, you blow up, and if you have an over active one, you get super skinny. Since I lost my gallbladder, I cut my fats down to about 30gs a day. The most I eat is about 15-20 grams in a serving a day. I eat in much smaller portions now, which is actually better for any person, says my doctor. I lost 15pnds, I was almost 139 but now I'm down to 124, I no longer have back titties, lol. So basically my advice is, try to eat healthy, you CAN exercise a little at home, I do, and eat small portioned meals through the entire day, not just three major ones.

Hmm..... although I really do advocate loving yourself how you are, there's a point where that doesn't work anymore ^ ^;;; I know someone who's wife let herself eat to death (Literally; she got so obese that she got diabetes and her organs all began to fail and all that terrible stuff ) So I think it's great to love yourself, but if it starts to affect your health, obviously...don't just...do nothing. XD

Um... I said portion control, but there's more I think that's important other than just that lol.
It really does help if you eat on small plates (Because it looks more full than the same food on a big plate and you don't look like you're not getting enough)... But also try to cut down on bad things like saturated fats and un-necessary calories (Like cutting out things such as soda, doughnuts, and french fries would be a nice start)
I still do eat ice cream X3 But there's a lot of them on the market nowadays with reduced fat ( 1/3 the fat and such), and frozen yogurt often has no fat entirely and still tastes good (Not to mention yogurt is good for you), so you don't have to take any pledges to get rid of all sweet or good tasting food haha XD

Usually what I do as well is like... in recipies that have lots of oil and/or shortening, I take out most of it when I cook X3; It doesn't taste bad, it's just not as rich. And for frying things like eggs, vegetables, etc, you don't need any kind of spray or oil or butter to make it not stick, cuz like.... it doesn't XD; Seriously. I only use that for cooking meat.
And if you're craving a little flava I like to add spices >w< They always say "diet food " is bland and tasteless, but if you get into things like chili powder and cumin and stuff like that, it sure isn't XD Also using things that have natural flavour, like lemons and oranges and peppers and things.... those are really tasty lol.

Of course exercise is always good for anyone XD I don't do it as much as I should, so the diet I mentioned above is geared more towards a sedentary lifestyle. (I have exercise-induced asthma lol )

XD So, that's pretty much it for me. I've been doing the above for like.. five years about, and it's kept me below 135 the whole time, so I'm thinking it works alright.

Limit sugars is the first one for me, because your body will metabolize that first, instead of its fat reserves, even if you DO exercise.

Diet is SOOOooo easy. Just walk for 2 hours round the lovely neighbourthood about 3-4 times a week and YOU COULD EAT A ZEBRA!! :D :D
Of course your legs feel like they'll drop off, but not after the 3rd time!

This came about cuz I wanted to walk by the beach for my beneficial exercises which stopped me going crazy being at work or home in my room allll dayyy..... aand the beach is 1/2 hour away. So it takes ages just to get there.
Anyway if you like jogging better, jog! If bikes are your thing, bike!

It's also great way to cheer yourself up (your brain makes its own dope, apparently) and getting the juices flowing helps your mind think too - no better way to let the stress go than to have your own private 2 hours to think your thoughts and all that jazz.

OH but if you buy your own groceries, DON'T do it on an empty stomach, you end up staring for 15 minutes at stuff you don't need, just thinkin' MMmmm.... OR when you feel slightly carsick, cuz you don't wanna even look at food! :XD: as you can see, my advice comes from many years of wisdom gained by experience *coughstupidmistakes*!

I don't really like any of those. I say DRINK MORE WATER and eat more citrus and fish. Water because it fills you up and also, if it is cold it can boost your metabolism. Citrus because fruit burns more calories than they are and I think Grapefruit in particular boosts your metabolism as well. Fish, because it is less fattening than other meets and it stimulates your brain.
